Crystal Springs Fire438 viewsThe Mattapoisett Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Sunday evening. Hampered by the snow and ice they chased the fire through the walls and roof of the house and were eventually able to gain control. Little fingers sticky with glue flattened out cotton balls and fastened them to prefabricated Styrofoam snowperson shapes, and then glued on the trimmings under the guidance of caregivers. Mattapoisett Firefighters Association Chowder Competition438 viewsThe 2nd Annual Mattapoisett Firefighters Association Chowder Competition was well attended this Sunday, September 18, behind the Knights of Columbus on Route 6. Two categories – professional establishment and public safety – competed for best judged chowder and people’s choice.
