Doggie Walk-A-Thon442 viewsThe Doggie Walk-A-Thon held on August 26 in Mattapoisett village is the brainchild of Freemin Bauer, whose dream is to one day create a dog park in town. Bauer’s dog walk-a-thon last year for his Boy Scout Eagle project raised money to make repairs to the Fairhaven Animal Shelter. This year, he raised money towards a dog park.

Alpacapalooza! 442 viewsPine Meadows Farm in Mattapoisett is home to some 17 alpacas. Owners Heidi and Jeff Paine opened up the farm to the public over the weekend once the weather cleared. Saturday the alpacas were still drying off from the rain, but by Sunday their fleece was again fluffy and soft. Photos by Jean Perry
