Harbor Days Craze448 viewsThe town gazebo was the scene of another sultry Harbor Days this past weekend. Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world. The Militia demonstrated 18th century living, made beef stew, completed drills, and talked about the dentistry methods of that time period. There was food from local establishments, ornament making, merry music and Santa! The moment was enough to spur two romantic marriage proposals. Mattapoisett Firefighters Association Chowder Competition448 viewsThe 2nd Annual Mattapoisett Firefighters Association Chowder Competition was well attended this Sunday, September 18, behind the Knights of Columbus on Route 6. Two categories – professional establishment and public safety – competed for best judged chowder and people’s choice.
