Mattapoisett Lions Club477 viewsDespite cool raining weather members of the Mattapoisett Lions Club joined together on Saturday April 20th to repair the shade shed at Ned’s Point, including a new roof. The following Saturday the members repaired the shade shed at the town beach. Both shade shed were originally built by the members of the Lions Club.

Dog Walk-a-thon477 viewsFreemin Bauer, 17, of Mattapoisett Boy Scout Troop 53, along with his fellow scouts and adult assistants, held a Dog Walk-a-thon on August 27 in Mattapoisett Village. Bauer’s event, part of his Eagle project, is to raise awareness for being a responsible dog owner and to help support the Fairhaven Animal Shelter. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase supplies for repairs the scouts will make to the facility. Additional funds raised from the event will be donated to the shelter. Photos by Marilou

Santa Arrives476 viewsMattapoisett held its annual holiday celebration and tree lighting on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shipyard Park. The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers. Children made their own ornaments and hung them on the Christmas tree. They also danced with Rudolph and Frosty and shared their Christmas wishes with Santa Claus. Photo by Felix Perez.
