Family Fun Festival 463 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home. Dog Walk-a-thon462 viewsFreemin Bauer, 17, of Mattapoisett Boy Scout Troop 53, along with his fellow scouts and adult assistants, held a Dog Walk-a-thon on August 27 in Mattapoisett Village. Bauer’s event, part of his Eagle project, is to raise awareness for being a responsible dog owner and to help support the Fairhaven Animal Shelter. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase supplies for repairs the scouts will make to the facility. Additional funds raised from the event will be donated to the shelter. Photos by Marilou
