Frozen Princesses496 viewsOn December 21, two princesses visited the Mattapoisett Public Library to read stories and sing songs from the Disney film Frozen. Princesses Elsa and Anna beguiled the children as well as their parents in an hour-long performance culminating in hugs and a photo session. Poker Run495 viewsMotorcyclists gathered Sunday morning, September 20, in the parking lot of ORR to ride in the third annual Poker Run for Alex Pateakos. Alex is a five-year-old Marion boy who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Money raised by the poker run will benefit Alex, and Families of SMA, a group that helps families like the Pateakos’ live their lives as close to normal as possible. Santa Arrives495 viewsMattapoisett held its annual holiday celebration and tree lighting on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shipyard Park. The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers. Children made their own ornaments and hung them on the Christmas tree. They also danced with Rudolph and Frosty and shared their Christmas wishes with Santa Claus. Photo by Felix Perez.
