Family Fun Festival 616 viewsFamilies came out in record numbers to enjoy the 4th Annual Fall Free Family Fun Festival sponsored by the Mattapoisett’s Lion Club on October 19 held at Shipyard Park. Bruce Rocha of the club estimated attendance at over 400. Kids and adults alike enjoyed free face painting, bowling with pumpkins, a corn hole toss, snacks, hayrides to Ned’s Point and, yes, free pumpkins to take home. "M/V Mattapoisett" was the call sign of Karl Collyer who passed away in February 2010 after working 40 years at the boatyard. There was food from local establishments, ornament making, merry music and Santa! The moment was enough to spur two romantic marriage proposals.
