The event brought several hundred people to the Mattapoisett waterfront for a family friendly, fun filled evening of entertainment as the talented young singers performed popular hits and Broadway standards while many in the audience ate picnic suppers. Santa Arrives509 viewsMattapoisett held its annual holiday celebration and tree lighting on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shipyard Park. The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers. Children made their own ornaments and hung them on the Christmas tree. They also danced with Rudolph and Frosty and shared their Christmas wishes with Santa Claus. Photo by Felix Perez.

Emily is a member of Ship 40 Nobska from the Cape Cod & Islands Council. Currently she is the Northeast Region Area 1 Boatswain and she served in a variety of Ship and Council leadership positions. Emily is an Able Sea Scout and is working towards completing requirements for Quartermaster. She’s been awarded the Sea Scout Leadership Award and she earned the God and Life Religious

Pinewood Derby509 viewsMattapoisett Pack 53 held its Pinewood Derby on March 9 at the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. The Cub Scout division had 14 entries, and the Enthusiasts division had 11 entries. The five fastest Cub Scouts cars going to the regional competition in Rochester on March 23: 1st Gabe Michaud, 2nd Kyle Pina, 3rd Thomas Tseki, 4th Matthew Crain, and 5th Eamon Perez. Matthew Crain's blue and gold lego car won Best Scout Theme car, and the Most Unique Design went to Liam Garvin's camping car.

Great Community Picnic509 viewsThe Great Community Picnic hosted by the Mattapoisett Land Trust and Historical Museum featured great food, music, and lots of creative expression. One table was tricked out in a Jaws theme while another was filled with ladies wearing hats called “fascinators”. The fourth annual fundraiser was a sold out event.
