His efforts coupled with a crew of about 20 other volunteers has taken on the labor-intensive work of rearing young oysters to maturity in Pine Island Pond. Poker Run548 viewsMotorcyclists gathered Sunday morning, September 20, in the parking lot of ORR to ride in the third annual Poker Run for Alex Pateakos. Alex is a five-year-old Marion boy who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Money raised by the poker run will benefit Alex, and Families of SMA, a group that helps families like the Pateakos’ live their lives as close to normal as possible. The first officer on scene reported that there was smoke in the building and that all occupants had safely exited. Mr. Gagne started on August 31, after a screening committee narrowed down the town administrator search to Mr. Gagne and Mark Andrews of Lawrence, Ma. Mr. Gagne's experience as a town administrator in Dartmouth for over 20 years helped him get the job as the new Mattapoisett town administrator.
