Tradition at the Wayside629 viewsFor 30 years, Edward Days, with the help of his son Anthony, decorated the Wayside Shrine at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Mattapoisett. The shrine was built by Ray Fleurent who passed away this year. When Edward Days passed away 20 years ago, family continued the tradition for seven years. This past Sunday, in memory of his father and all Knights of Columbus, and with permission, Anthony gathered siblings and grandchildren to continue the tradition once again. Christmas Day Swim629 viewsHelping Hands and Hooves hosed their 11th annual Christmas Day Swim at 11:00 am at the Mattapoisett Town Beach. Helping Hands and Hooves is a non-profit (based in Mattapoisett) that is dedicated to providing therapeutic horseback riding lessons for adults with disabilities. Great Community Picnic629 viewsThe Great Community Picnic hosted by the Mattapoisett Land Trust and Historical Museum featured great food, music, and lots of creative expression. One table was tricked out in a Jaws theme while another was filled with ladies wearing hats called “fascinators”. The fourth annual fundraiser was a sold out event.
