Her owners, Kristen and Chris Querim, and their son Matthew, made a commotion to scare off the coyotes and then raced Stella to the vet, where she was treated for deep puncture wounds and lacerations. There was food from local establishments, ornament making, merry music and Santa! The moment was enough to spur two romantic marriage proposals. Mattapoisett Town Oyster Farmer500 viewsBill Mansfield has become the de facto Mattapoisett town oyster farmer, overseeing the town’s oyster farming program since 2014. His efforts coupled with a crew of about 20 other volunteers has taken on the labor-intensive work of rearing young oysters to maturity in Pine Island Pond.
