Mattapoisett Town Oyster Farmer505 viewsBill Mansfield has become the de facto Mattapoisett town oyster farmer, overseeing the town’s oyster farming program since 2014. His efforts coupled with a crew of about 20 other volunteers has taken on the labor-intensive work of rearing young oysters to maturity in Pine Island Pond. Santa Arrives504 viewsMattapoisett held its annual holiday celebration and tree lighting on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shipyard Park. The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers. The ceremony took place at the Home of Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York on December 9, 2009. Mr. Wheeler is a 2004 graduate of Old Rochester Regional, and received a Bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in Studio Composition from SUNY/Purchase in 2008.
