Ashley Mural513 viewsThe mural by Clifford Ashley, donated to the Mattapoisett Historical Society by Polly Duff Phipps, was unveiled in a ceremony at the Mattapoisett Museum and Carriage House on July 31, 2011 after extensive renovation. The mural, entitled "A Chart of the Whale Coast of New England, c. 1810" will now be on display in the Museum at 5 Church Street, Mattapoisett. Mattapoisett Student Goes to Space Camp513 viewsNicholas Claudio of Mattapoisett recently attended Space Camp for Interested Visually Impaired Students (SCI-VIS), at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, NASA's official Visitor Information Center for Marshall Space Flight Center. The weeklong educational program promotes science, technology, engineering and math, while training students and adults with hands-on activities and missions based on teamwork, leadership and decision-making.
