Massachusetts State Geography Bee452 viewsOwen Modracek, a resident of Rochester and 7th-grader at ORRJHS, has qualified to represent the Tri-Town in the Massachusetts State Geography Bee, sponsored by the National Geographic Society. Only the top 100 students in the state are invited to compete in the State GeoBee on March 29 at Elms College in Chicopee, MA. Owen won the ORRJHS Geography Bee, and then qualified by taking a state-sponsored exam. State champions then go on to compete in the National Geographic GeoBee in Washington D.C.

Thanksgiving Dinner451 viewsOld Rochester Regional Junior High School eighth grade students and staff volunteered over the weekend to present the 24th annual Thanksgiving dinner for Tri-Town senior citizens on Sunday, November 23. Stayin’ Alive 451 viewsSurvival Week at ORR Junior High kicked off on the early morning of Sunday, June 17, as the 7th-graders boarded the busses for Western Massachusetts for a week of roughing it in the wild. And for this generation, that simply means no electronic devices and no Dunkin’ Donuts. Survival is now in its 46th year and still going strong.
