Representing Grades K-2, 3-4, 8 and 10, the students participated in five days of concentrated study in early literacy and math. The week’s effort added up to a month’s worth of classwork. Special Olympics Young Athletes271 viewsRoughly 120 Tabor Academy students volunteered on January 10 to assist with the school’s first session of the Special Olympics Young Athletes™ program held at Tabor. The program offers children ages 3-7 with intellectual and developmental disabilities opportunities to engage in physical activities vital to mental and physical growth. Spearheaded by Math teacher Tim Cleary and Tabor senior Molly Bent, sessions continue January 17 to March 6 (no session February 7) at 2:00 pm at the Fish Center for Athletics

Mr. T!270 viewsStudents chanted “Mr. T!” to Mr. Tavares on the roof as they left school June 18. Kevin Tavares, associate principal, challenged the kids to raise 481 canned goods to top Mr. T’s 480 – they collected over 800 instead! Mr. T had to spend the night on the roof of Center School, calling the community out to visit him and bring canned goods so he could match the students’ grand total. Photos by Jean Perry

Santa’s Workshop270 viewsOn the snowy night of December 15, high school students and some rambunctious kids gathered for some fun at ‘Santa’s Workshop’ in the ORRHS Cafeteria. Senior Class President Gabriel Noble-Shriver and Vice President Rachel Demmer, along with Class of 2018 advisors Merrideth Wickman and Michael Nailor, hosted an evening of crafts, dancing, games, and a movie so parents could holiday shop. Kindness Crew270 viewsPerforming arts and drama courses were offered as part of this year's After Class Enrichment (A.C.E.) sessions at Sippican Elementary School. Students combined painted glass and sand art, assisted by Tabor After School Community Service Volunteers, created clay handles for their vases as part of a collaborative project with the Marion Historical Society, participated in 3D printing, and worked on "Once Upon a Time" STEAM activities.
