Cardboard Boat Race 400 viewsORRJHS held the 6th annual Cardboard Boat Race on June 15 during S.C.O.P.E. week for 7th grade students. S.C.O.P.E. – Student Centered Opportunities for Personal Enrichment – is a week-long program that offers activities that challenge students while having fun! In addition to the cardboard boat race at the Mattapoisett YMCA, the week was filled with trips, tours, and activities, such as team building and the ropes course at the Dartmouth YMCA, a visit to Historic Faneuil Hall. Winterfest400 viewsORRJHS hosted a fun Friday night for Grades 6-8 on January 19, providing a ‘Winterfest’ to break up the chilly season with some heated up fun, such as dancing to a DJ, disco lights, and an inflatables room complete with jousting, bouncing, and inflatable sumo wrestling. ORR ‘super’ stars400 viewsThe ORR ‘super’ stars were out on February 7 for the annual ORR Senior Superlatives Gala. The “Best…” and “Most Likely to…” seniors were celebrated that night, while students also mourned last week’s loss of ORR 2017 grad Becket Kiernan, last year’s winner of “Best Laugh” and “Unsung Hero,” who passed away in a California hospital just weeks after finishing his basic training for the Marines.
