Six groups of 2-3 students designed their own cranes, motors, and pulley systems using only a set limited supply of materials. Fare Thee Well431 viewsDanni Kleimann led the school staff one last time on Wednesday, June 21, for the annual RMS student send-off. This year, the day marked Kleimann’s last day at RMS as she is retiring after 31 years. Kleimann is best known for directing the Shakespeare plays at RMS and for orchestrating the student send-off every summer. Miss Massachusetts Jillian Zucco431 viewsAs part of the Read Across America Program, Miss Massachusetts Jillian Zucco will be visiting 15 elementary schools across the Commonwealth this week to read to 1000+ children. On Monday, Jillian read to nine classrooms at two different schools, including Sippican School in Marion. There, she read stories and discussed the enjoyment and importance of reading every day. Sharing the Harvest431 viewsOn September 25, 70 Old Hammondtown School 6th-graders went to "Sharing the Harvest," a volunteer-staffed farm at the Dartmouth YMCA that grows and distributes fresh food to local food banks. Students processed thousands of pounds of butternut squash, prepared seedling trays, planted garlic for next year's harvest, and unearthed sweet potatoes, despite the rain. Project Empty Bowls431 viewsThe Ceramics and Art I students at ORRHS created these one-of-a-kind bowls to serve up hot soup during the school’s first ever Project Empty Bowls fundraiser on November 29. The Empty Bowls Project is an international grassroots effort to raise funds and awareness of hunger.
