Relay for Life401 viewsOver 200 Tri-Town residents gathered to help raise money for the American Cancer Society by participating in the fifth annual Relay for Life. The Relay started at 5:00 pm on Friday June 11 and continued until 12:00 pm on Saturday. Participants walked the track at ORR throughout the night and into the next afternoon as a way to honor cancer survivors and those who lost their battle to cancer. Personalized luminaria bags lined the track, lighting the way for the participants throughout the night.

Christmas Wreath Sale 401 viewsTeam “Sole Survivor” held its annual Christmas wreath sale last weekend beginning on Black Friday, and they will continue to sell hand-decorated wreaths and crafts throughout this weekend while supplies last. Rabies Check401 viewsDavid Smith of the Rochester Land Trust recently accompanied Randy Mickley, a USDA Wildlife disease biologist, as he checked live mammal traps set in Marion and Rochester as part of the Cape Cod Oral Rabies Program. The goal is to establish a vaccine barrier in Plymouth County to prevent reintroduction of rabies to Cape Cod. Two raccoons were caught in Rochester and three in Marion.

Trinidad Orphanage Mission400 viewsEighteen ORR students and one Tabor student, along with their fathers, spent their April vacation working at an orphanage on the island of Trinidad. The group provided labor, materials, and good spirits to help paint the sleeping areas for the 35 children who live at the Christ Child Convalescence Home. “It was a very eye-opening experience,” said Ben Mattson, who went with his father, Wayne. “The kids were very excited to have us visit.
