The next meeting of the Nasketucket Bird Club will be Thursday, January 26, 7:00 pm at the Mattapoisett library. The group will discuss plans for programs, trips, and speakers. Everyone is welcome. Nasketucket members include birders from Mattapoisett, Wareham, Marion, Rochester, Fairhaven, Acushnet, and other area towns.

High Winds and Waves484 viewsOn February 7, rain and high winds hit Southeastern Massachusetts, resulting in thousands of electrical outages. The hardest hit in the Tri-Town area was Rochester with more than 500 Eversource customers reporting wires down and service interruptions from mid-afternoon into the night. Gusts of over 70 miles per hour were reported by the National Weather Service. Rochester’s Highway Department was on the job for approximately 24 hours removing trees. Photo by Marilou Newell

Wrestling in Rochester482 viewsMembers of the Northeast Championship Wrestling League (NCW) held a series of wrestling matchups in the gymnasium of Rochester’s Memorial School on Saturday, April 14 on the occasion of their tenth anniversary to stage a ‘Reunion’ of NCW to benefit the family of RMS science teacher Tom Kinsky. Tour de Crème482 viewsThis year’s 4th annual Tour de Crème raised $12,000 for outdoor recreation in Mattapoisett! There were 350 riders consuming over 1,200 scoops of ice cream all for a good cause.
