Dragon Crossing461 viewsMattapoisett Animal Officer Kathy Massey was called to the area of Route 6 at the Mattapoisett/Marion line late Friday morning for what turned out to be a Tegu Dragon crossing the road. The 4-foot Tegu was transported to Mattapoisett Animal Hospital for treatment and was then brought to an undisclosed location for nourishment. The next meeting of the Nasketucket Bird Club will be Thursday, January 26, 7:00 pm at the Mattapoisett library. The group will discuss plans for programs, trips, and speakers. Everyone is welcome. Nasketucket members include birders from Mattapoisett, Wareham, Marion, Rochester, Fairhaven, Acushnet, and other area towns.

The students of Old Rochester Regional Junior High on November 24 hosted their annual Thanksgiving banquet for the senior citizens of Tri-Town – a tradition made possible by the volunteer staff and students who spend hours decorating, cooking, serving, and cleaning up after so seniors can get a taste of the school community’s gratitude for their support.
