Corcordia Launches629 viewsMattapoisett resident Brian Kvilhaug will skipper the new fishing vessel, Concordia, which was launched in Fairhaven on Friday, December 2, 2011. The 95-foot, 199-ton steel scallop boat is the first built in the area in the past 50 years, and was built at D. N. Kelly’s shipyard in Fairhaven. Collection for Our Troops628 viewsA collection of goods for troops in Afghanistan by Mattapoisett resident Alicia Sullivan wrapped up this week. The Wanderer office was just one of many Tri-Town locations accepting self-stable foods, stationery, pens, toiletries, and more. In the first couple weeks of November, an winter jacket/hats/gloves drive for veterans will be taking place at the Mattapoisett Fire Station and CapeCod4Troops will be collecting goods as well. The project will include installing window boxes at Shipyard Park and the Town Beach and also planting a flower bed in the shape of the 150th Anniversary logo at the entrance to the Town Wharf.
