The event was hosted by the Marion Council on Aging (COA) with a group of student volunteers from Old Rochester Regional Junior High School, who not only helped serve refreshments, but also joined their elders on the dance floor for some contemporary and traditional dances. The event was very well attended with lots of great food from local restaurants. The premier sponsor of the event was Pilgrim Bank. Habitat was able to raise $5,000 for their upcoming build.

Planning for 150529 viewsOn Sunday, April 1, a group of gardening enthusiasts gathered at The Mattapoisett Inn for a benefit aimed at helping to beautify the town with flowers in advance of this summer’s 150th birthday celebration. The project will include installing window boxes at Shipyard Park and the Town Beach and also planting a flower bed in the shape of the 150th Anniversary logo at the entrance to the Town Wharf. Camp Massasoit offers programs for children of all ages starting with their Scamper Camp program aimed at preschool aged children, 4 to 5 years of age, up to their Counselor-In-Training program for teenagers, 15 to 16 years of age.
