The most impressive feat of the day was accomplished by runner Mary Cass (above) who won the women’s portion of the race, outdistancing the competition by several hundred feet while pushing her daughters, Acadia and Naomi, in a jogging stroller. Corcordia Launches546 viewsMattapoisett resident Brian Kvilhaug will skipper the new fishing vessel, Concordia, which was launched in Fairhaven on Friday, December 2, 2011. The 95-foot, 199-ton steel scallop boat is the first built in the area in the past 50 years, and was built at D. N. Kelly’s shipyard in Fairhaven. The Concordia was christened by Allison Kvilhaug, daughter of the skipper. It replaces the original Concordia built in 1946. Photo by Tony Lopes.

The young bikers arrived with the goal of pedaling their way towards raising $10,000 in the fight to find a cure for cancer.
