Waterway Clean-up255 viewsKyle Kossak caused some concern when he was spotted in his kayak in Hiller Cove off Aucoot Road, but it turns out the mechanical engineer from Newport, Rhode Island, was not shell fishing, he was cleaning up trash along Mattapoisett’s shoreline. For several years now, Kossak has made a weekly hobby of picking out spots along the southern New England shoreline, taking his kayak out to selected sites and retrieving trash. Tri-Town firefighters255 viewsThe holidays were challenging for Tri-Town firefighters. Marion and Rochester fire departments were among towns assisting Wareham after a mulch pile in a remote location off County Road caught fire on Christmas Eve. Firefighters worked in cold temperatures for eight hours, dispensing approximately 200,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.
