The students explored several different locations around Mattapoisett this year. We visited Land Trust property off Mattapoisett Neck Road and Bob Field gave us a tour of his Oyster farming operation. Relay for Life382 viewsOver 200 Tri-Town residents gathered to help raise money for the American Cancer Society by participating in the fifth annual Relay for Life. The Relay started at 5:00 pm on Friday June 11 and continued until 12:00 pm on Saturday. Participants walked the track at ORR throughout the night and into the next afternoon as a way to honor cancer survivors and those who lost their battle to cancer. Personalized luminaria bags lined the track, lighting the way for the participants throughout the night.

Azorean Maritime 382 viewsThe Azorean Maritime Heritage Society in New Bedford, MA is hosting about 70 people from the Azores in early September 2010 for the International Azorean Whaleboat Regatta with teams from USA, racing against teams from Pico and Faial.
