Memorial Day Boat Race394 viewsOn Monday, dozens of boats hit the Mattapoisett River for the 78th Annual Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race. Boat 1, comprised of Sean Shaw of Rochester and C.J. Informance Concert394 viewsOn Sunday, January 27, the South Coast Children’s Chorus held an Informance Concert which allowed potentially interested members to come in and see what the group is all about. The concert was held at St. Gabriel’s Church in Marion. The chorus is well known around the state and has performed in large venues such as Fenway Park. Photos by Felix Perez.

Memorial Day Boat Race394 viewsDan Lawrence and William D. Watling III of Rochester (above left) broke the race record, winning the men’s division with a time of 1:46:59. Amy Hartley-Matteson of Mattapoisett and Katherine Hartley of Rochester (2:11:14) won the women’s division for the third consecutive time – the second time they’ve three-peated. The Sippican School and Old Hammondtown bands performed, while festivities also included parades, speeches, and ceremonies from the American Legion and VFW.
