Residents watched the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department’s Ken Ballinger demonstrate K-9 tactics, got a feel for SWAT, EMS, and Fire vehicles; and enjoyed pizza and ice cream. South Coast Bikeways436 viewsThere is a vision in the South Coast for a 50-mile cohesive bike path system that will run from Rhode Island to Cape Cod. On March 27 at the South Coast Bikeway Summit, South Coast Bikeway Alliance Member and Fairhaven Selectman Bob Espindola, and President and Coordinator Julianne Kelly, welcomed a full house at the Fort Tabor Community Center in New Bedford to discuss biking.

Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride 436 viewsIt was a windy ride for the 120 participants of the 9th Annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on October 4. From Westport to Falmouth, cyclists rode either the 75-mile or 35-mile route to raise funds for the Buzzards Bay Coalition, bringing in nearly $90,000.
