The Coast Guard, in cooperation with the North Carolina Resources Commission, helped release a total of 19 rehabilitated sea turtles into the Gulf Stream off the coast of North Carolina including Kemp’s ridley sea turtles, green sea turtles and a loggerhead sea turtle.

Mattapoisett Firefighter’s Association366 viewsThe Mattapoisett Firefighter’s Association hosted a chowder competition on September 13 on the Mattapoisett Knights of Columbus grounds. Between 300 and 400 guests came to sample the chowder of 16 different teams, split into two categories: public safety and professional. Sunfish Racks366 viewsA huge thanks to Patrick Kiernan and Mattapoisett Boy Scout Troop 53 for their excellent construction of two Sunfish racks for the Angelica Yacht Club’s junior sailing program. Troop Leader Dennis McLaughlin and several other troop parents oversaw the installation, which was Patrick’s Eagle Scout project. The Sunfish racks will hold a total of four Sunfish and their gear.
