Nature Explorers369 viewsMattRec and the Marion Natural History Museum partnered for the second year to provide "Nature Explorers" summer program. The students explored several different locations around Mattapoisett this year. We visited Land Trust property off Mattapoisett Neck Road and Bob Field gave us a tour of his Oyster farming operation. Summer Days369 views Buzzards Bay was active this past Labor Day weekend with boaters and residents out enjoying the late summer weather on this unofficial last weekend of the summertime season. The colors of summer will soon shift to the colors of fall in the harbor, but not before a few more opportunities to take out those kayaks and sailboats with friends and family. Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride 369 viewsIt was a windy ride for the 120 participants of the 9th Annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on October 4. From Westport to Falmouth, cyclists rode either the 75-mile or 35-mile route to raise funds for the Buzzards Bay Coalition, bringing in nearly $90,000. Riders paused at Eastover Farm in Rochester for a lunch break before continuing on for the remaining 35 miles. Photos by Colin Veitch

Miss Inspirational369 viewsThe Miss Inspirational program took to the ORR stage and stole the show on Friday, May 6, during a packed auditorium assembled to see 29 young women of all abilities showcase their talents and accomplishments. Miss South Coast, Jillian Zucco, coordinated the fundraising event as part of her progress towards the upcoming Miss Massachusetts pageant. Tour de Crème369 viewsThis Sunday was the third annual Tour de Crème, a fundraising partnership between the Mattapoisett Land Trust and the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path. The ride started at the Town Beach and wound its way through the Southcoast, making stops at the various creameries along the way. This year’s weather was a major improvement from last year’s soaking, but overall participation was down this year.
