Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride 357 viewsIt was a windy ride for the 120 participants of the 9th Annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on October 4. From Westport to Falmouth, cyclists rode either the 75-mile or 35-mile route to raise funds for the Buzzards Bay Coalition, bringing in nearly $90,000. Metacomet357 viewsThe bronze sculpture “Metacomet” will be on display at the Mattapoisett Historical Museum for the next few weeks, on loan from artist David Englund. Englund has a penchant for the underdog, saying he chose Metacomet AKA King Phillip as his subject matter because of history’s bias against him. “I knew his history as a warrior and I know he wasn’t given a fair shake by the historians,” said Englund. Waddles357 views‘Waddles’ the cat gave birth on Saturday, April 23, to the largest litter of kittens that Pamela Robinson, owner of It’s All About the Animals cat shelter in Rochester, had ever seen. Robinson and the vet delivered a whopping litter of 12 kittens, with 10 surviving the birth. The average litter is four kittens. Photo by Jean Perry

Tour de Crème357 viewsThis Sunday was the third annual Tour de Crème, a fundraising partnership between the Mattapoisett Land Trust and the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path. The ride started at the Town Beach and wound its way through the Southcoast, making stops at the various creameries along the way.
