Disaster Drill483 viewsFairhaven Fire Department hosted a full-scale exercise to improve emergency response in the region. Mattapoisett, Rochester, Dartmouth, Freetown, Acushnet, and New Bedford all responded to a disaster that simulated an accident between a school bus and an oil truck at Livesey Park in Fairhaven. Buzzards Bay Swim483 viewsOn Saturday, July 2, 2011, the Buzzards Bay Coalition held its 18th Annual Buzzards Bay Swim, a 1.2-mile open-water swim from New Bedford to Fairhaven. Tri-Town participants were included in the largest annual fundraising event held by the Bay Coalition. Between 300 and 400 guests came to sample the chowder of 16 different teams, split into two categories: public safety and professional.
