The photographs show the devastation of the legendary hurricane in the area of Mattapoisett’s Silver Shell Beach and Angelica Point. Mr. Smith does not believe that the pictures have ever been published, and gave The Wanderer the first chance at publishing the photos. The eagle sighting in Marion was indicative of the population recovery that bald eagles are making in the United States.
