Yee Haw, Maw!665 viewsRochester’s Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. The weather was perfect on Saturday as children raced frogs, climbed walls, bounced in castles and much more. Although the weather was less than perfect on Sunday, residents lined the streets with lawn chairs and umbrellas to watch as the Hillbilly themed parade passed. Photos by Felix Perez. According to individual reports, the mercury hit 103 in Mattapoisett mid-day. The Mattapoisett COA and library saw a slight influx of people seeking air conditioning as well. Photos by Felix Perez. Lost Coins664 viewsThey say one person’s trash is another’s treasure. Treasure or not, the workers at SEMASS, the massive trash to energy facility in Rochester, never know what might filter through while processing the region’s trash. This collection of metal objects is a sample of the myriad metal things pulled from the trash flow by large magnets every day. Looks like treasure to us! Photo by Jean Perry January 17, 2019 edition
