Shellfishing in Season1123 viewsHorace Field, Mattapoisett’s Assistant Harbormaster and Deputy Shellfish Warden, and his lab Bonnie enjoy an afternoon of quahogging along a Mattapoisett beach. As of October 15 you can also harvest scallops (through April 1). Quahogging can be done anytime with a shellfishing permit from the Mattapoisett Town Hall. Mock Trial in Marion1117 views“Anne Hutchinson” (Christina Hai) is sworn in by real-life Attorney Laura O’Rourke during Sippican School’s recent mock trial, The Massachusetts Bay Colony vs. Anne Hutchinson. The Marion students learned about the trial from 1637 where Ms. Hutchinson was banished from the colony for allegedly being “a woman not fit for society” because of her religious beliefs.

Marion Musical Melodrama1110 viewsCast members of the Marion Art Center’s (MAC) summer production of The Drunkard include (l. to r.) Kim Krasky as “Mary the Heroine,” Kevin Halligan as “Edward the Hero,” and Rex McGraw as “The Villain.” Based on an 1844 temperance play by W.H.S.
