Turtle Power712 viewsHello, there. I’m a handsome, male painted turtle from Rochester currently making my habitat at Doggett’s Brook. I enjoy sunning myself on rocks and logs and swimming in the slow-moving water, and eating insects, fish, and plants. I don’t have any teeth, but I have cool stripes and razor-sharp claws. I’m looking for a female who loves basking in the warm sun, mating, and wants lots of kids. April 4, 2019 edition

Witch Rock706 viewsThe writing on Rochester’s famous “Witch Rock” has received a fresh coat of paint just in time for the Halloween season. The legend of the great rock, located on private property at the corner of New Bedford Road and Vaughan Hill Road, speaks of a witch hanging at the site, and the native Indians are said to have believed that the spirit of a witch dwells inside the rock and one could hear her cackle and scream on nights of the full moon.
