Michelle Skaar of the library’s young adult programming invited the makeup artist for her teen group, but it quickly became apparent that mask making is a cross-generational activity. Pasciutti decided to pursue makeup when he was a theater art major in college.

Helen Lozoraitis and Paul Duffy donated the birdhouse kits for the scouts to construct and installed the poles for mounting. Visitors to the park on Saturday launched large and lively kites mimicking the movement of varying sea-life creatures. Held back by gusty breezes, the "fish" faced the lighthouse as if preparing for a feeding frenzy. Children ran in the grass, while many sat in lawn chairs along the perimeter and just took it all in.
