Scouts Honored525 viewsMattapoisett Boy Scouts Matthew O’Dowd, Charles Gaudet, and Alex Poulin were all recent inducted into the rank of “Eagle Scout” during an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held recently at the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. Each scout chose community service projects to attain the rank: Matthew coordinated a successful Red Cross blood drive; Charles organized the repair of the Mattapoisett Historical Society’s picket fence; and Alex helped senior citizens with difficult chores.Feb 27, 2007

Wind Power572 viewsRochester Golf Course owners Stuart and Judy Tallman have erected a windmill on the course off Route 105 in the hopes of using it to help generate and supply power for the property’s clubhouse. The 80-foot high tower is topped with a 10-kilowatt turbine, which should produce about 20,000 kw of electricity for the Golf Club annually.
