Fish Ladder Repair309 viewsThe Mattapoisett Water Department, along with the assistance of the state’s Division of Marine Fisheries and local herring inspectors, were able to purchase the necessary lumber and rebuild the fish ladder at the Mattapoisett River Dam. There are 13 ladders that make up the weir, which allows easier access for the herring to head upstream. They are hoping to see the first few fish within the next couple of weeks.
