2020 Covers436 viewsWe wish all of our readers a prosperous and healthy 2021. An especially challenging 2020 was overmatched by the resiliency of our local businesses, and we learned a whole new level of appreciation for our advertisers who have endured, emerged, and pressed on, spreading their successes to The Wanderer and the Tri-Town community we serve! The cover of the New Year's Eve, online-only edition of The Wanderer features 49 of our 2020 covers.

Festive Decorations464 viewsOn the afternoon of December 16, the front yard of a Rochester home where Mattapoisett Road and Perry Hill Road meet did not need to wait for the snow or the sunset to dazzle with holiday pageantry. . Photo by Ryan Feeney - December 24, 2020 edition

Salty's Hat373 viewsDue to a lift needing repair, Salty the Seahorse donned his Santa hat a day after the annual event was scheduled, but one of Mattapoisett’s signature landmarks wears it as proudly as ever on December 10. Originally constructed by gift shop owner Henry Dunseith in the pre-Route 195 mid-1950s when Route 6 was the main thoroughfare to Cape Cod, Salty’s future was as up in the air as his snout before a restoration project in 2000 ensured his long-term future. Fill-A-Cruiser Toy Drive394 viewsSunday’s Fill-A-Cruiser toy drive at Sippican Elementary School was a success! Volunteers representing the Marion Police Department, Police Brotherhood, and Sippican School (VASE) welcomed a parade of vehicles of families dropping off a variety of Christmas gifts for cookies and cupcakes. Marion Police Chief John Garcia donned the Santa suit and took pictures with kids in school resource officer Matt McGraw’s 1924 Ford Model-T. Photos by Mick Colageo. December 10, 2020 edition

Mendell Road435 viewsAmidst Tuesday’s silent backdrop of rust-colored leaves nestled between a stone wall and Mendell Road, the Town of Rochester has done a great deal of business over the last week sandwiching a Special Town Meeting in between two Board of Selectmen meetings yielding approval for new highway equipment, the codification of bylaws, and a new assessor’s report.
