On Friday at the Senior Center, the Rochester Fire Department celebrated the team effort it took to save McGonagle’s life, starting with quick responses from his playing partners, CPR administered by a medical professional who happened to be playing an opposite-facing hole, followed by the intervention of the town’s first responders. Town Meeting23 viewsBoth Marion and Mattapoisett held their Annual Town Meetings on Monday. Residents participated in the direct democracy votes on various articles in a longstanding continuation of the practice from colonial times. Of the many articles voted upon, in Marion all were passed except Article 43, the Citizen’s Petition which was passed over to fall and in Mattapoisett all were passed except Article 27 which was voted against. Nearly every seat in the hall was taken up by local seniors chowing down on a full turkey dinner; which also included apple pie for dessert.
