The 12 preserves in the Mattapoisett Land Trust’s 397-acre Old Aucoot District include the 35-acre Holmes Preserve. Named after the Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., the preserve includes multiple trails spanning from Angelica Avenue out to Route 6 and in between a vernal pool that has served as an off-campus classroom for local students.
