The Helping Hands and Hooves’ annual Christmas Day Swim was preceded by a polar plunge in the weather and a brief ‘snownado’ of sorts as the winds swept snow and sleet across the area only minutes before enthusiastic participants in costume arrived at the Mattapoisett Town Beach and raced into the icy waters.
