Major Dwayne Fortes and Lt. Jennifer Keegan of the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department instructed a group of women from all age groups on how to defend themselves during a physical assault. The program that Fortes spearheaded and developed combines marshal arts with traditional evasive moves. The May 10 event was hosted by the Mattapoisett Recreation Department.
