Bill Saltonstall, right, and grandson Cal Currier may reside on opposite coasts, but the California-raised Currier has made many visits to his extended family in Marion, and motivation to follow in the footsteps of his father James and his grandfather led him to take a bold step this year, crossing the Atlantic on a sailboat all by himself.
