This photo was taken on a recent trip to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Outside the Rijksmuseum, standing behind Fransje and Nick Zucchero from Pine Island Road in Mattapoisett is a living statue of a seventeenth century gentleman, most likely a member of a military company. This period-bedecked man might have been an ideal subject for one of Rembrandt’s paintings. 2/14/02 edition
