Class of 202445 viewsOld Rochester Regional High School Class of 2024 Valedictorian Jacob Hadley was introduced by Theodore Cecil, his cousin and chapter president of the National Honor Society. The June 1 commencement featured remarks from Superintendent of Schools Mike Nelson and Principal Mike Devoll and music from the school band. Tabor Academy45 viewsOlympic gold medalist Colleen Coyne of the Class of 1989 gave the Commencement Address, as Tabor Academy held its graduation exercises on May 31 under a large, white tent open to the sea air coming off Sippican Harbor. Marion Natural History Museum45 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's Coastal Exploration group had a great time exploring freshwater and saltwater ecosystems this summer. We took a close look at tadpoles and salamanders undergoing metamorphosis, spotted turtles fighting with each other, a water snake, silversides and shrimp and much more. Many thanks to Marion Recreation Department for turning on the water at Washburn and to Adam Miller and Zack Ciesielski of the Marion Harbormaster's office for their help collecting plankton samples. Car Show45 viewsThe September 5 car show and sock hop held at the Rochester Council on Aging found the grounds filled with more than 85 vintage cars and several hundred spectators. The fundraiser also featured raffles, along with hamburgers and hot dogs cooked up by the Rochester Fire Department. Handling the root beer float station were members of the Police Department. On hand were members of the Plymouth County TRIAD, a nationally recognized program linking seniors with local safety strategies and agencies.

Bright blue skies graced the heavens while here on earth, children cavorted across Shipyard Park with seasonal tunes playing in the background like “Purple People Eater”.
