Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Church57 viewsThe youth group at Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Church Marion hosted a party after church last Sunday. It was The Souper Bowl of Caring. They decorated for the tailgate party, cooked delicious food to share, nachos, sliders, sloppy Joes and much more. They collected non-perishable foods and money that was donated to Damien’s and Marion food pantry. The event was great success. Photos by Tanya Ambrosi

Marion Natural History Museum 57 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Paul Gregory for sharing his collection of shells and fossils with students who wish to start their own. Along with perusing guidebooks to identify an item, we learned the importance of the history of the artifact, where and when it was collected and by whom. Natural history museums are wonderful resources for students, artists and scientists.

Travis Roy Student Center57 viewsTabor Academy hosted an Open House on Tuesday morning at the new Travis Roy Student Center, which replaces the former library on the same spot. While the late Travis Roy is most widely known as a student-athlete whose college-hockey career lasted all of 11 seconds, his passion for student life, ceramics, sailing and the big part the Marion campus played in his life is reflected in the building of the new student center bearing his name. Girl Scout57 viewsRochester's Cadette Girl Scout troop visited Washington last week. Here we are posing in front of and inside the Washington Monument with a copy of The Wanderer! The girls are all entering eighth grade in the fall, and some have been in the troop since starting as Daisies in Kindergarten. We used cookie money saved over the years to fund the trip, and we thank the Rochester community for always supporting our cookie sales. Photo courtesy Sarah Jacques
