Sippican Woman’s Club 59 viewsThe Sippican Woman’s Club along with several homes splendidly decked-out for holiday celebrations were opened to the public on December 7. Breathtaking decorations coupled with spectacular homes both vintage and new were a visual feast. Since 1947 the club has given back to the community in the form of scholarships to area students. The beaver lodge was tested to see if it held water back and still kept the lodge dry inside. It was a huge success! The event, sponsored by the Rochester Fire Department, saw contestants build boats and race south along the Mattapoisett River. The students were able to identify the many species including Starling (small flock), Mourning Dove, Juncos (good views), Cardinal, House Finch, House Sparrow, and American Crow.
