Alice @ Wonderland 218 viewsThis ORRJHS drama production of Alice @ Wonderland is going to be a smash! In a modern twist to the Carroll classic, watch as a 21st century Alice, played by Bess Pierre and Alexandria Strand, preoccupies herself over status updates, cell phone service, WI-FI availability, and even her own existence, as she heads down the rabbit hole and mingles with the slightly sarcastic versions of the classic characters we know and love. There is a performance Friday at 7:00 pm and Saturday at 2:00 pm. Jean Perry

Rochester Tractor Pull218 viewsIf you were anywhere near the Rochester Country Fair grounds on Saturday, you heard the familiar sounds of revving tractor engines echoing throughout the town. The country fair committee held a tractor pull/swap fundraiser on April 29. Those who attended got an early taste of the sights, sounds, and smells of the Rochester Country Fair with dirt flying, engines blasting, and diesel smoke billowing up into the air. Happy Days at Harbor Days 218 viewsIt all seems to come and go so quickly year after year, but while the Harbors Days are here the people of Mattapoisett and surrounding towns make time to enjoy the annual seaside event – the fish fry, lobster feast, pancake breakfast, and arts and crafts – that the Mattapoisett Lions Club works so hard all year round to keep going. In the Heights218 viewsCome see the Tabor Academy winter production of “In the Heights” running February 15-17 at the Fireman Center for Performing Arts on Front Street. The production, written by famed “Hamilton” writer Lin-Manuel Miranda, is a “timeless story, but it’s also a modern play,” as Music Director John Horne described it. Tickets are free for all! Stayin’ Alive 218 viewsSurvival Week at ORR Junior High kicked off on the early morning of Sunday, June 17, as the 7th-graders boarded the busses for Western Massachusetts for a week of roughing it in the wild. And for this generation, that simply means no electronic devices and no Dunkin’ Donuts. Survival is now in its 46th year and still going strong. Some, like Survival leader Kevin “KT the Kilt Man” Thompson, have attended Survival since they were 7th-graders 30 years ago. Photos by Jean Perry
