We welcomed Dianna Doucette and Erin Flynn of Public Archaeology Labs (PALS), who had conducted a survey of the museum’s artifacts in 1998. Dianna and Erin helped us understand some of the history of the area over the past 10,000 years, from the Wampanoag people through the colonists and beyond. Mattapoisett Sustainability Partnership222 viewsThe Mattapoisett Sustainability Partnership continues to pursue ways to engage the public as its members work to understand better ways to provide sustainable solutions for a variety of human activity, including art. On September 2, an exhibit of recycled/upcycled works of art was on display at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library. We were amazed at the variety of materials and types of art that were created from small shining towers to 3-D book sculptures to wearable art and more.

Holiday Party at Shipyard Park221 viewsThe community turned out for a wonderful late afternoon of lights, music, food and fun at the annual Holiday Party at Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett hosted by the Lions Club. The Lions were collecting non-perishable food and unwrapped new toys to distribute to those in need during the holiday.
