Nativity Preparatory School263 viewsOn Monday, September 19, the Annual Golf and Tennis Tournament fundraiser to benefit the Nativity Preparatory School of New Bedford was held at the Bay Club in Mattapoisett. Larry Oliveira, a trustee of the board and co-chair of the event, is pleased to announce that in spite of rain that day, the benefit netted $71,000 for the school. Tennis players competed indoors at the Marion Tennis Center and many golfers and tennis players attended the dinner and auction.

Veterans Day Ceremony in Mattapoiset263 viewsCol. Joseph McGraw was the guest speaker during the Veterans Day Ceremony at Old Hammondtown School. McGraw has a long and impressive military career. He graduated in 1994 from U.S. Military Academy and achieved successive ranks to become a full colonel in 2015. The officers raised over $1,500 letting their facial hair grow out, a no-no for the rest of the year for the officers.
