The Scoop on S.C.O.P.E. 337 viewsORRJHS 7th-grade students participated in the annual S.C.O.P.E. cardboard boat race at the beach at the Mattapoisett YMCA last Wednesday, June 20. The students engineer and build their boats – some sink, some sail – and this year team “Funky Monkey” came in first place. There were 15 boats in all this year, all created by teams of four. Sayonara, School! 337 viewsDark clouds and raindrops couldn’t dampen the spirits of students and teachers on June 25 when Rochester Memorial School said farewell until next September. Bandleader Chris Williamson, along with teachers and Principal Derek Medeiros, sent the students on their way with the traditional rousing music.
